Question: Do I need to be a member to play in USAJGT Tournaments?
Answer: Yes

Question: How do I enter a tournament?
Answer: You can enter online or mail your entry form(s).  If you want to apply online, click the tournament schedule and the schedule will appear.  Select your tournament and click the more info tab, which will bring up information about that event as well as the entry form.  Fill out the entry form and follow directions.

You can enter as many as you desire, with payment of entry fee.

Question: How do I verify my entry?
Answer: We will confirm by email, US Postal Service or text message to cell phone.

Question: When must I enter?
Answer: Entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  Entry deadline is 10 days prior to the start of the event.  Late entries can sometime be accepted on a space available basis and with payment of a $15.00 surcharge.

Question: How much do tournaments cost?
Answer: Events start at $119, plus depending on course selection.

Question: Withdrawal?
Answer: Once accepted inot a tournament, any withdrawals prior to ten days of the event will result in a $10 charge from your entry fee. Withdrawals inside of ten days will result in the loss of $50 of your entry fee. You can also click here to fill our withdrawal form online.

Question: When will I pay for an entry?
Answer: At the time of entry

Question: What happens if I don't show up for a tournament?
Answer: You forfeit your entire entry fee.

 

Question: What are the age divisions?
Answer:
Boys 12 - 13 Girls 12 - 14
Boys 14 - 15 Girls 15 +
Boys 16 +

 

Question: What determines age division?
Answer: Your age on January 1, 2008

Question: Can I move up in age division?
Answer: Yes, however it must be done prior to your first event and is discouraged

Question: What length courses do we play?
Answer: For those boys 16 - 19 and girls 15 - 19 we will comply with the yardage requirement of the Titleist/Sagarin ranking system.  These are the approximate yardages:

 

Boys 12 - 13
Boys 14 - 15
Boys 16 +

Girls 12 - 14 
Girls 15 +

5,800 yards+
6,600 yards+

5,400 yards+
5,800 yards+

Question: What do practice rounds cost?
Answer: We will arrange special fees for our practice round.  These will be noted on our tournament information page.

Question: Tee times?
Answer: First round tee times are posted 4 days prior to the event.  Second round tee times will be posted at the golf course and host hotel at 7:00 PM or earlier.

Question: Range balls?
Answer: Included for each tournament round.

Question: Registration?
Answer: Check in 1 hour prior to your first round tee time.

Question: Pace of play?
Answer: Very important, please look under Junior Information.

Question: Are we allowed to ride carts?
Answer: NO, except when it is a long walk from green to the next tee.  In those situations we will provide carts and drivers for you.

Question: Will the USAJGT cancel an event due to weather conditions?
Answer: Play may be delayed due to weather, but we will do everything possible to complete the event.

Question: Are caddies permitted?
Answer: In keeping with Titleist - Sagarin ranking rules, caddies are not permitted.

Question: Can you use Electronic Measuring Devices?
Answer: No
